Summary

MS 9856 comprises two diaries, 1964 and 1969, which were kept by Reverend Les McKay during his time with the Australian Inland Mission in Birdsville, Queensland (1 folder).

The Acc09.059 instalment includes photographs of McKay carrying out his work as a patrol padre with the Australian Inland Mission, two manuscripts of unpublished stories by McKay, one of which is based on Aboriginal legends, letters of thanks from governors-general following vice-regal visits, and messages of condolence to his widow on his death (1 box).

Biography/History

Presbyterian minister. Reverend Andrew Leslie (Les) McKay was a member of the Australian Inland Mission and brother of Reverend Dr. Fred McKay (1907-2000).
