Carmel Nicholson, an artist, born 1930, on Ray Station near Quillpie. Nicholson speaks about her early childhood with her mother on Ray Station near Quilpie, Qld. When she was about 6 years old, she and her mother were sent to Cherbourg Anglican Mission for over eight months before her mother was returned to the Station and she was sent to the Sisters of the Good Shepherd at Mitchelton. She describes the living conditions at Good Shepherd where she stayed for about 30 years. Nicholson also talks about her mother's last years, her life now as an artist, and the psychological impact of being separated from her family.
