- Map of the South Pacific Islands centred around Otaheite [i.e. Tahiti] in the Society Islands stretching to the west with the Friendly Island [i.e. Tonga] and the Navigators Islands [i.e. Samoa]; to the east with the Marquesas Islands and eastern French Polynesia. The map features the seatracks of many explorers and many useful historical notes concerning many individual islands. Relief is shown pictorially.
- Text block is included on the map outlining the sources of this historical information and its reliability such as the accuracy of the seatracks of the Spanish explorers.
- Dedication on map: "To the directors and members of the Missionary Society, instituted in London, 22 Sept. 1795, this chart constructed for the use of the Mariners and Missionaries who sailed in the ship Duff from Spithead 22 Sept. 1796 is inscribed by their affectionate brother and devoted servant, Samuel Greatheed".
