- Summary:

YACS stands for Young Activists Collective for Sustainability and is committed to sustainability in all areas of life : the environment, economics and society. It is a not-for-profit organisation by and for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 and is committed to the concept of satisfying one's own needs without compromising the ability of future generations to satisfy theirs. YACS was founded by a group of secondary school students who met at the Creating a Sustainable Future Conference in July 2002. This was a five-day residential camp at the University of Melbourne and allowed students to come together to share ideas about the future.
