There is a small amount of material relating to projects in Melbourne such as Newman College, the Palais de Dance and the Capitol Theatre. There is also a small amount relating to the the building of incinerators in Sydney and the development of Castlecrag, including the the knitlock process. Papers of Marion Mahony Griffin include a set of notebooks containing lists of plantings, coded by colour. In 1932 he moved to Sydney with his family to live at Castlecrag. Following Griffin's death in 1937, Nicholls continued the architectural practice from Castlecrag. During Nicholl's lifetime he kept custody of a large collection of Griffin's papers and photographs.
