Summary

One volume containing a letter written on one folded single leaf. The letter was written by Dumont d'Urville to his publisher Gide concerning corrections to the proofs of Voyage au pôle Sud et dans l'Océanie sur les corvettes l'Astrolabe et la Zélée 1837-1840. The letter was written from his property Juliade just outside Toulon.

Biography/History

French explorer, cartographer, botanist, linguist and writer. Born 23rd May, 1790, at Conde sur Noireau, Calvados, and was killed on 12th May, 1842, in a train which caught fire between Paris and Versailles.
