Folkloric recording. Susan Colley, 93 years old at the time of recording, talks about her family history; her father's occupation as a bullocky; early Bathurst; early bush dances in the area; dancing with the concertina behind her partner's back; dressing for the dances; her father's bullock team. She plays tunes on an Anglo-German concertina, sings songs, ditties and recites poetry. Bill Pittendrigh comments that he knew a great deal of poetry when he was young, recites a poem and sings a song.
