Domenic Catanzariti speaks about his work at the Australian National Botanic Gardens from its beginning as the Canberra Botanic Gardens; changes in work conditions and the equipment used to construct and maintain the Gardens; other employees; the camaraderie amongst workers; sourcing rocks and soil for the gardens; the design and construction of walls and paths; watering and irrigation; meeting Prince Charles and Princess Diana; being introduced to Paul Keating by Ros Kelly; arranging first aid training and C class driving licences for staff; protecting the gardens from bush fire; receiving a medal for his fire fighting work; and continuing to visit the gardens in retirement
