Biography/History

Air pilot and navigator on long-range solo flights and surveys of Indian Ocean and Pacific routes. Flew as captain with Australian National Airlines, 1930-1931. Flew with Kingsford-Smith in the Southern Cross as second pilot and navigator, 1933-1935. Navigator aboard Charles Ulm's Faith in Australia, 1933. Published books dealing with his experiences.

Notes

The collection comprises British and United States nautical charts and Australian aeronautical charts, chiefly of the South Pacific. Some charts have ms. annotations by P.G. Taylor.
