Folkloric recording. Reel 32. Eva Lynch sings "The blessed Zulu War" and speaks of local characters including: Bill Jackson, his dancing, fighting, music, drinking, family and stories about him, and Mrs Hoskins, born 1834, a seamstress from Ireland, whom Eva lived with at age 12; Eva recites/sings lullabys taught to her by Hoskins; speaks of local dances, dance contests and names of dances from earlier this century -- Reel 33. Eva and son Phil speak of the "Min Min lights" and local stories about them; UFO's; Eva recites I'll be all smiles tonight (Queen of the May); Phil recites the yarn, The Illiterate boundary rider; speaks of local cricketer Harry Dicks; Eva sings/recites two lullabys and speaks of a local Scottish woman who came Australia by sailing ship.
