Two letters addressed to Mrs Elizabeth Tindell from her son and daughter. The first letter dated 11 September 1838 is from Charles Tindell with a shorter letter at the end from his sister Margaret. The letter was written from Gravesend, London, immediately before the authors boarded the "Earl of Durham" to sail for Sydney. The second letter is dated 17 February 1839 from Margaret Menzies to her mother. Writing from Liverpool NSW, Margaret describes her husband, Robert Menzies' purchase of 600 acres at Illawarra and tells her mother that she might be pregnant with her first child.
