Biography/History

Bessie Sims is the wife of Paddy Japaljarri Sims and the older sister of Michael Nelson Tjakamarra. She was born in the desert and lived a traditional lifestyle for many years. Bessie is Warlpiri and lives and paints with other senior women at Yuendumu. Her work has been included in many group shows of the Warlukurlanga Artists and she is an active member of Yuendumu Night Patrol which helps keep the community safe--Acquisitions documentation.
