Algernon Hawkins Thomond Keith-Falconer, 9th Earl of Kintore, was Governor and Commander-in-Chief of South Australia from April 1889 until April 1895. Kintore took a deep interest in the colony under his charge, travelled extensively, and was interested in Federation and supported the Australasian Federal Convention at Melbourne in 1890--Information from acquisition documentation.
