At the end of 2006, a flexible dealing provision (section 200AB) was introduced into the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth.), allowing institutions to use copyright materials for certain socially beneficial purposes. The Australian Libraries Copyright Committee and Australian Digital Alliance have produced a practical handbook to give guidance and suggestions for institutions considering using section 200AB.
