"Noemfoor Island, Indonesia, was the site of major airfields for both Japanese and Allied forces during World War II. Following the Allied departure, a large quantity of military equipment was left behind. Thiess employed a team of more than 150 workers to salvage the equipment from Noemfoor and Biak Islands"--Information from aquisitions documentation.
