Summary

"Designed by American engineer Don Jacobs, the sliding tunnel floor shown in photograph was one of Thiess' key innovations and enabled the excavation of the Snowy-Geehi tunnel to proceed at record speed. Thiess broke the world record for hard rock tunnelling, excavating 165 metres in six days"--Information from acquisitions documentation.
