Folkloric recording. Lorraine and Brian Gardiner speak about their early life in the mining town of Queenstown; the social life and culture of the town; their schooling and occupations; the Franklin River Blockade. Brian, who worked as a media liaison officer for the Hydro Electric Commission (HEC) talks about his thoughts on the declaration of the area as a World Heritage Area and National Park; the actions against the National Parks and Wildlife organisation over certain aspects of the areas declaration as a National Park and how it was "nearly civil war".
