- Biography/History:

Diplomat. Philip James Flood served variously as Australia's High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Ambassador to Indonesia, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and High Commissioner to the United Kingdom. He retired in 2000. In 1992 Flood was appointed an Officer (AO) of the Order of Australia in recognition of service to international relations and in 2001 he was awarded a Centenary Medal. Flood is the author of Odyssey by the sea: a memoir of family and childhood (2005).
