Notes

Newspaper clippings, magazine excerpts of two tours to Australia particularly the second and third tours by the Ballets Russes under the names of the Covent Garden Russian Ballet and Col. W. de Basil's Covent Garden Ballet (or Original Ballet Russe) from 1938/­39 and 1939/­40 respectively brought here by J.C. Williamson. Additional information on the various Australian ballet companies which descended from them particularly the Borovansky Australian Ballet Company and the Kirsova Ballet Company. Names of some rising Australian dancers such as Roy Currie, Phyllida Cooper (known as Lydia Couprina), Joy Parson, Laurel Martyn, Dorothy Stevenson, Edna Brusse, Michael Wilson, Connie Lun and Rachel Cameron included.
