Folkloric recording. Dr Laksito came to Australia from Indonesia (Java) under the Colombo Plan and studied medicine at the University of Sydney. He discusses elements of the Javanese culture especially music and dance and growing up in a remote vilage exposed to this culture; his career as a surgeon in city hospitals and moving to the bush as a General Practitioner; adapting to the Australian sense of humour and the Australian way of life; the changing face of medical practice in the bush and mental and other health matters bought on by the decline in the rural economic situation.
