Eastern goldfields; her schooling including correspondence schooling; moving to Gwalia, a W.A. mining town (1931) and the living conditions; the Kalgoorlie Riots (1934); holidays in South Fremantle; Boans Store; moving to Agnew, W.A. (1936) for father's work; meeting her husband at 15, marrying at 17; living in Wiluna, W.A.; her children; buying a Singer sewing machine; the impact of WWII on Kalgoorlie; her husband's mining accident at Wiluna; moving to Kalgoorlie W.A., from Big Bell (mining settlement south of Meekatharra W.A). after Wiluna mine closed; schooling for children; using Mechanics Institute Library.
King discusses her various jobs in Kalgoorlie; buying their house, their home for next 40 years; the train route via Mullewa, W.A. which brought her and the family to Kalgoorlie; the start of her writing and her influences; writing Nickel country, Gold country (published by Rigby, 1972); the Poseidon Nickel venture in W.A. goldfields in late 1960s; the changes in mining with advent of nickel in W.A. goldfields; doing a journalists course with J.K. Ewers; The Waldeck Story; Tom Austen; writing, Daughters of Midas, published by Hesperian Press (1988); the Herbert Hoover Museum; painting and why she took it up; being commissioned to write history of Royal Flying Doctor Service, W.A.; writing history of the Kalgoorlie Miner; her husband's stroke and later death (1986); travelling to the U.S.A. and U.K. in 2005 and 2006; writing, History of Hannans' Club, a long established Kalgoorlie Association, completed in 1995.
