MS Acc10.098 comprises a two page list of pre-flight expenses, flight expenditure, and post-flight expenditure. In March 1951 Captain P.G. Taylor flew from Australia to Chile, via Tahiti and Easter Island, in the catalina "Frigate Bird II" (1 packet).
- Biography/History:

Aviator and writer. Patrick Gordon Taylor was an air pilot and navigator on long-range solo flights and surveys of the Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean routes. He flew as a captain with Australian National Airlines, 1930-1931, and with Kingsford-Smith in the "Southern Cross" as second pilot and navigator, 1933-1935. He was the navigator aboard Charles Ulm's "Faith in Australia", 1933. Taylor was awarded the 1951 Oswald Watt gold medal for his Australia-South America flight. He was knighted in 1954. Taylor's published books that deal with his aviation experiences include Pacific flight: the story of the Lady Southern Cross (1935), Frigate bird: the dramatic story of the first air crossing of the South Pacific (1953), and The sky beyond (1963), among other works.
