Levy a jazz pianist, talks about his family background; father worked as a part-time saxophone player; classic music lessons from age 11; decision at 16 to concentrate on jazz. He then talks about his transition from boogie-woogie to modern jazz and his own style of music and the various influences on his work. Levy discusses his techniques when playing piano; Bernie McGann and his work; teaching jazz history at the Conservatorium; playing with Doug Foskett and his band; playing with his own band, Phingus, and Galapagos Duck, Last Straw and Ken James Reunion Band. He then talks about the work he is doing today as well as work he has done with students at Sydney Grammar and some of his recreational activities such as golf.
