Rev Michael Johnson, a minister for the Methodist Church (born 1930, Sydney, N.S.W.) Johnson speaks about his family background and his first encounters with Aboriginal people in Perth. From 1966 to 1968, Johnson was the Methodist minister on Flinders Island, Tas. and made regular visits to Cape Barren Island. He describes a program to provide free places at church colleges for Aboriginal upper primary school students from Cape Barren Island. He also discusses the attitudes of Flinders Island residents towards Aboriginal people.
