Condon, a theatrical impressario, recalls his family background; his father's involvement with The Shamrock Entertainers and his mother's appearance in the movie On Our Selection; his schooling; working for his brother as a theatre projectionist and how this influenced his attitude to theatre; first employment working for Artransa at 2GB Macquarie; recollections of working in radio with Jack Davey; being poached to work for 2UE as a panel operator; being one of the first 30 people involved in television in Australia; his career at Channel 9 (TV station) and his contribution to the presentation of the Channel 9 programs; experiences with high profile entertainers performing in Australia; the demise of the nightclub scene in Sydney.
Condon speaks about how he produced the Bicentennial Concert in 1988; his reasons for leaving television production and setting up his own production company, Paradine; his company's productions of well known musicals and presenting Chinese theatrical productions in Australia; his role in the bid for the 2008 Olympic Games by China; the Chinese reaction to his presentation of the Kirov Ballet in Beijing and Shanghai; the future of the presentation of theatrical productions in Australia; being appointed the founding commissioner of the Australian Film Commission.
