Biography/History Ethel Florence Lindsay Richardson was born in East Melbourne in 1870. Her novels include Maurice Guest (1908), The getting of wisdom (1910), The fortunes of Richard Mahony and The young Cosima (1948), written under the pen name Henry Handel Richardson.
