Filmed as part of the Australian Joint Copying Project by the National Library of Australia and the Library of New South Wales.

In the 1840's it was proposed that a separate colony called North Australia be established for convicts in northern New South Wales. In 1846 the charter and the governor's letters patent were revoked.
