Summary

Colour lithographic poster advertising a set of six stamps and associated products issued to celebrate Stamp Collecting Month (SCM) in October 2009. Held annually, SCM aims to introduce budding stamp collectors to a fascinating hobby, while the stamp subjects are targeted to primary-school-aged children and incorporate an educational aspect. The theme of this set is ‘Let’s Get Active!’ which invites primary school children to have fun, play sport and get fit. Featured are six of the most popular ball sports in Australia: Australian rules football, basketball, soccer, netball, cricket and tennis. In the bottom half of the poster are images of the stamps, which are illustrated in the Japanese manga style and show children playing the featured sports. At the top of the poster is a drawing of six children playing with the six different balls, while the poster background in bright yellow
