MS Acc12.047 comprises a multi-subject clipping file maintained by Thora Twohill. It contains newspaper clippings and reference book photocopies pertaining to her father Jack Lumsdaine, her husband Pat Twohill and herself. There is also a preliminary draft of a manuscript of the Jack Lumsdaine related chapter of a book by John Hood titled "Seat in the dress circle" and his correspondence with Sir Donald Bradman. Includes Jack Lumsdaine Memorial Award memorabilia and Lumsdaine music score (1 folder).
MS Acc17.057 comprises a journal written by Jack Lumsdaine's maternal grandmother, C. Bentley, on her journey to Australia from England and describing her tour of Italy. It includes a black and white photograph of Jack Lumsdaine as a boy (1 folder).

Soldier, entertainer and songwriter. John Sinclair (Jack) Lumsdaine was born at Casino, New South Wales in 1895. In Sydney he attended St Andrew's Cathedral Choir School and Sydney Grammar School. In 1911 he joined a vaudeville company touring Australia. He served with the AIF during the Second World War and, following the war, worked for music publishers in Melbourne and Sydney. Lumsdaine composed numerous songs including some he performed on tour in Australian and New Zealand theatres, and also worked in radio. Model and radio entertainer. Thora Mary Twohill was born Flora Dorothy Luvisca Lumsdaine, daughter of Sydney's famous ''whispering baritone'', Jack Lumsdaine. She had a successful career as a model and radio actor and, in 1940, married actor Pat Twohill and had five children.
