Biography/History

The Randwick Asylum for Destitute Children, operated by the Society for the Relief of Destitute Children, opened on 28 March 1858 with accommodation for 400 children. A new wing completed in 1863 provided accommodation for a further 400 children.

Caption title.

"The use of the Prince of Wales Theatre has been given ... by W. S. Lyster, Esq., and the following artistes of the opera company have volunteered their gratuitous services for the occasion:– Madame Lucy Escott, Mdlle. Rosalie Durand, Miss Georgia Hodson...."

Programme on cream silk with scalloped top and bottom edges.
