- Summary:
-
Colour lithographic poster advertising a set of four stamps and associated products presenting the stunning coral reefs of Australia. Featured on two stamps each are the Great Barrier Reef in Queensland and Ningaloo Reef in Western Australia. The stamps in this issue show aerial and underwater images of the two reefs. Ningaloo Reef is off the coast of the Cape Range peninsula. This park and heritagelisted region is home to the largest fringing coral reef in Australia. The Great Barrier Reef runs for more than 2,000 kilometres and is the world's largest coral reef system. It has almost 200 varieties of hard coral and more than 100 types of soft coral. Below the caption, which is in white, are images of the four stamps, set on a background of an underwater shot of a coral reef with a turtle in the left foreground. Product availability details are in black text across the foot of the poster.
