"In the form of a passport, this artist’s book signals travel but also the feeling of being ‘all at sea’. Through the imagery, we get the sense of a voyage possibly by sea but perhaps of the mind. Elements of an obsolete topographic map can be seen through the images to reinforce the idea of travel or navigation whether of a physical or emotional nature. Hand stamping of assorted rubber & wooden stamps imitates those that maybe stamped onto an actual passport. Each one indicates having crossed some check point or boundary"--Artist's statement.
