- Summary:
-
An artist's book inspired by the federal government's apology to the Aborigines in 2008, in which the artist examines her relationships with two childhood friends and five members of her family in order to examine her own life and voice her own truth. "I too, yearn to reconcile with the people in my past. Once anger and revenge are set loose they indiscriminately dehumanise. To Be takes an oblique look, in fragments, at seven people [Joanne Worrall, Clements Langford, Sarah Ann Langford, Frederick Baden Langford, Leila Owen Langford, Wendy Elizabeth Boykett and Jennifer Ruth Albiston]. I want to bury my anger beneath Netley's jetty, the family home, and between the covers of the book."--Colophon.
