Lady Cornforth talks about her family background; education at Bexley Primary School and St. George Girls' High School; Liversidge prize for chemistry; Exhibition of 1851 Research scholarship to Oxford awarded to both herself and her husband to work with Robert Robinson, world's leading organic chemist; awarded doctorate in 1941 and married that same year. She then describes working and studying at Oxford during WWII; difficulties imposed by war and coping with husband's deafness.
