Dr Squire entered the Queensland Teachers College in 1933. He taught in country and city schools prior to joining the RAAF in 1942. After WWII he returned to Brisbane State High School, before joining the staff of the Queensland Teachers College where he worked for 12 years. In 1961 he left the Teachers College and, from 1962 to 1995, he was owner and principal of Hubbards School in Brisbane. Dr Squire has been involved in many professional activities in Queensland, particularly the Australian Science Teachers Association. He is the author of numerous textbooks in Physics and Zoology for secondary students.
