Terence John Santry, Australian artist, speaks on his childhood in Sydney, Nauru and Ocean Island; death of his father; Royal Arts Society art school with Sydney Long and Dattilo-Rubbo; Sydney in the 1920s; his Catholic education; work lettering on advertisements and as a commercial artist with Truth newspaper; trip to London; return to Australia and job with Consolidated Press working on the Sunday Telegraph and Women's Weekly; association with the Society of Artists, Contemporary Art Society and SORA; associations with Roland Wakeland, Lloyd Rees and George Lawrence of the Northwood Group; teaching art; life drawing; the Opera House and Sydney environs generally.
