- Summary:
-
One area of inquiry of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse is what institutions and governments should do to address, or alleviate the impact of, past and future child sexual abuse and related matters in institutional contexts, including ensuring justice for victims through the provision of redress by institutions. This report presents the Royal Commission's final recommendations on redress and civil litigation. The recommendations concern the establishment, funding and operation of a single national redress scheme, the provision of a direct personal response to survivors by institutions, and reforms to civil litigation systems to make civil litigation a more effective means of providing justice for survivors.
