- Summary:
-
La Sylphide was first choreographed by Filippo Taglioni in 1832 during the Romantic era. In 2015 Queensland Ballet presented the award-winning production of La Sylphide from Danish choreographer Peter Schaufuss which incorporated many elements of the Romantic ballet. Teacher Resource Kits are created to complement a school's visit to the theatre or to support a workshop delivered in-school. As a standalone resource it is a useful starting point to investigate ballet or to delve deeper into the historical, social and artistic aspects of a particular production, thus providing richer and more experiential learning opportunities for a broad range of students and a great variety of classroom situations.
