Max Presnell is an Australian horse racing institution, a long-time journalist who began as a copy boy for the Sydney Sun in 1954 and is still writing about the turf today. Born and raised in the Doncaster Hotel, where his father was publican, Max has known, befriended and written about every significant racing identity in Australia for the last half century. Max has worked for Fairfax for more than 60 years. As a racing writer he's covered 40 Melbourne Cups (continuously for the last 37).
