Describe voyage, Adelaide, establishment of dairy in Melbourne, wheat sales, economic conditions, gold rushes, convicts, etc. 4. Letters of Jane McCracken, 1849-57 to family in Scotland from London, Plymouth, Port Adelaide, Melbourne and Saltwater Creek. Miscellaneous papers including correspondence, 1865-84; obituary of Robert McCracken, son of Alexander and Jane McCracken, 1918; and article on Peter McCracken (1818-1892).
- Biography/History:

Robert McCracken (1815-1885) and brother Peter McCracken emigrated to Melbourne 1841, establishing a brewery. Their brother Alexander married his cousin Jane and emigrated to Australia, establishing a dairy and then a wheat farm near Melbourne.
