Sir Norman Nock, company director and grazier, talks about growing up in Mosman and Killara, N.S.W., early jobs after leaving school at 16, enlisting for service in WWI but rejected because of leg injury, working in London, opening a Nock & Kirby office while there, returning to Australia and being appointed as director of the company, later became chairman. Before Sydney Harbour Bridge was built he negotiated for new premises and established Nock & Kirby's in 417 George Street.
