MS Acc01.022 comprises correspondence, drafts, reports, surveys, field notebooks, sketches, photographs, lectures and research data. Included are files on Kapunda Development Co., surveys of endangered species, a study of plant species for the National Museum of Australia, correspondence with Franco Lombardi, 1978-1983, and papers relating to Erwin Gauba's field trips, 1949-1960 (11 boxes, 1 carton).
The Acc01.025 instalment includes correspondence, reports, notes, research files, lecture notes, and course and exam notes. The papers relate to matters such as the Cotter Catchment Working Plan Area, Kapunda Pty Ltd., Chair of Botany at ANU, National Botanic Gardens Advisory Committee, and Oswald Pryor (grandfather of Geoff Pryor) (12 boxes, 3 cartons, 1 fol. box).
The Acc01.027 instalment comprises further files (9 cartons).
The Acc01.033 instalment consists of further papers. Two framed items are included (1 carton, 1 fol. box, 2 cylinders).
The Acc10.203 instalment comprises business records of Sylvan Stock Pty Ltd, a poplar seed propagating and silviculture entity, particularly active in the ACT region. Professor Lindsay Pryor was one its directors (1 box).
- Biography/History:

Botanist and silviculturalist. Lindsay Dixon Pryor was born in Moonta, South Australia in 1915 and attended the University of Adelaide and the Australian Forestry School in Canberra. Pryor joined Parks and Gardens in Canberra, where he had a long career including 14 years as director. His public contribution to the landscape of Canberra included the Australian Botanical Gardens, Australian National University, Australian War Memorial, preparations for Lake Burley Griffin and plantings in central Canberra suburbs. In 1958 he was appointed foundation Professor of Botany at Canberra University College.
Pryor was an expert in tree breeding and he achieved international recognition for his work on the hybridisation of eucalypts. He retired in 1976, but remained at ANU as emeritus professor in the Department of Forestry. Pryor is the author of several books, including The biology of eucalypts (1976), Growing & breeding poplar in Australia (with R.R. Willing, 1982), and, Trees and shrubs in Canberra (with J.C.G. Banks, 1991 and 2001). In 1983 Pryor was made an Officer of the Order of Australia (AO) for service to botanical science. Pryor died in 1998. The Australian Capital Territory government has named the Lindsay Pryor National Arboretum in Pryor's honour.
