An abridgment of Cook's narratives of his second and third voyages is given in the Appendix pp. [213]-353.

"The preface to Sydney Parkinson's Journal was drawn up after his death, at the request of his brother, Stanfield Parkinson, the original editor, by the late Dr. Kenrick ... " - p. [ii].

Library's SRq/­ef 910.4 C771 P486 is the complete green stamped Petherick set consisting of 11 titles including various editions of the three official accounts (B648, B1217, B1553); Parkinson (B714); Forster's Account (B1247), Observations (B1262) and Characteres (B1385); Observations by Wales (B719) and Bayly (B1287); Kippis (B32); Samwell (B1620) and atlas (B1553). The 15 v. texts and atlas with spine title: Cook's voyages. Each v. has a second spine title for the title of the work. Entire set with atlas is 16 v. bound subsequent to publication in green morocco with gold embossed covers and spines.

Library's RB copy (7476) has brown spine title: Parkinson's voyages. This copy has b&w plates.
