"Dr Betty Davis has had a long and distinguished career in early childhood education in South Australia. Following her early years as a teacher and then as a director in several Kindergartens in and around Adelaide, and a time in Perth, she was employed by the Kindergarten Union of SA, and then lectured in education at the Kindergarten Training College. From 1957, as Principal of the Kindergarten Teachers College, Betty Davis was actively involved in the establishment of the Kingston College of Advanced Education. In addition to holding an Honorary Doctorate from the University of South Australia, Dr Betty Davis is a Fellow of the Australian College of Educators, and a Member of the Order of Australia" -- Australian College of Educators website.
