| Summary |
In this interview Beth Dean expounds on her attitudes to life and to dance. The interview begins with details of Dean's family background and her dance training. She goes on to talk about her early performing career in musicals and her arrival in Australia with Victor Carell to appear in Annie get your gun. The interview includes a discussion of the creation of her ballet Corroboree and to many other pieces she has made for the theatre, for television and for festivals, including the 1968 Cultural Olympics in Mexico and the 1972 South Pacific Festival of Arts in Fiji. Dean also refers to her many publications written jointly with her husband Victor Carell and to her experiences living amongst Aboriginal communities in Australia.
