Folkloric recording.

Greg Hildebrand, born in Missouri, U.S., recalls his family background; family musical influences; father was a musician; education; music studies at Harvard in cornet, french horn and piano; first introduction to folk music and instruments (ukelele and Spanish guitar) at a Citizenship Camp in 1955; taking up guitar; studies at Indiana and discovery of bluegrass music; playing in a Boston coffee shop in 1966; folk scene in Boston in the 1960s; learning classical and flamenco guitar; other musicians, including Peter, Paul and Mary and Bob Dylan; various folk song books; travel and work in Sweden, India, Afghanistan, Laos; moving to Dandenong, Vic.; developing own reportoire; performing in Melbourne; performing with Greg O'Leary; meeting Joy; moving to Lilydale, then Warrandyte and Minhamite, Vic.

Joy Hildebrand, born Coburg, Vic, recalls her family background (especially grandmother Madam Adair); musical influences; learnt songs from mother; interest in books; games at school; folk songs at school; training as a nurse at Royal Melbourne hospital; experiences as a nurse; playing mandolin; Melbourne Banjo Club; setting up a new division of St. John's Ambulance; played guitar discouragement from first husband about work and music; adult musical influences; meeting Greg; Wallaby Stew Bush Band; song forms; Australian songs about women. Joy and Greg recall together more about folk music in Australia and America; musical styles, including the search for an Australian style.
