Summary

Acc01/261 comprises papers relating to Ross's activities as a valuer under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme.

The Acc03/89 instalment includes material relating to Ross's M.A. thesis titled The accounts of the Talbot household at Blakemere in the County of Shropshire, 1394-1425; widowhood; and, Dorothy Cottrell. Also, manuscript and literature collection assessments made for various institutions, under the Taxation Incentives for the Arts Scheme, 1982-1998.

Biography/History

Archivist, author and arts valuer. Ross is a former County Record Office archivist in England and archivist with the Commonwealth Archives Office in Canberra. She is a Canberra-based historian and former staff member of the National Library of Australia. Ross has published several works, including, "Accounts of the stewards of the Talbot household at Blakemere: an example of medieval accounting practice", in Abacus (1968), and, Directory of medieval manuscripts, archives and incunabula held in the National Library of Australia (1991).
