Charles Edwin Woodrow Bean (18 November 1879 – 30 August 1968), usually identified as C.E.W. Bean, was an Australian schoolmaster, judge's associate, barrister, journalist, war correspondent and historian.Reid, John B. (1977). Australian Artists at War, Vol. 1, p. 12.
