Simon Findlay Crean (born 26 February 1949) is an Australian politician and former trade unionist. He was President of the Australian Council of Trade Unions 1985–1990. He was leader of the Australian Labor Party and Leader of the Opposition at the Federal level from November 2001 to December 2003. He has been the member for the Division of Hotham since 1990, and was on the front bench, in government and opposition, for the entirety of his parliamentary career until 21 March 2013. He had most recently been the Minister for the Arts and Minister for Regional Australia, Regional Development and Local Government.
