- Summary:
-
'In 1891 the Queensland Government's steam yacht Lucinda provided an elegant setting, on Sydney waters, for politicans and lawyers from the Australian colonies who were finalising a draft constitution for a new nation. This brief interlude, part of process which culminated in Federation in 1901, has created interest in this vessel which our curator Patricia Miles has called "the little ship of the state"--Foreword.
